i remember this show. and i remember hearing the latest badu album this day. new danger was the show. the work of antoine "raw" williams and john "jago13" hairston jr. it was a gorgeous spring day @ uncc. almost a year ago. wow. can't believe i never did anything with these photos. enjoy.

it was a hot ass day in greensboro.
i can just imagine what summer will be like..
and it was her birthday nonetheless.

we needed to "waste" some time..
so we kinda wandered the uncg campus.

i got lots of photos of her, most from the nite before.
these were some of my favorites.

she was hilarious that nite.
things are always funnier when she's around.

friday nite was a good nite.

meesh. revisited.

a friend of mine recently posted something about revisiting old ideas.
and i've been meaning to pay meesh a visit.
these pictures were taken last late summer/early autumn..
sometime in september.
i remember the day.
the sun wasn't "out"..
there was an overcast even..
but it was hot as hell.
warm.
muggy.
we were sweating.
i was excited about hanging out with meesh..
and excited to use these lenses my cousin (thanks ishmael) let me use.

we wandered the streets of charlotte.
found an "empty" lot..
where people once lived.
lots of steps were left behind.

this is just one picture i captured of meesh..
i'll post the others in a bit.

he's that kinda artist-friend that continue to inspire me.. keeps the fire quietly going.. and he doesn't even know it. thanks chd:wrd for the random & not-so-random conversations.

sometimes the more you talk with someone, the more you get to know them. and sometimes, the more time spent, the better understanding.
i know that to look at someone's art (whether visual, audio, etc..) and to truly feel it, you get to know them even deeper. sometimes it just translates easier. it's brain activity. it's the manifestation of the inner to the outer world. creation is essential. imagine a world without it. i cannot fathom.
expression is everything.

if we pay close attention, we know that the universe is in natural order. just as it should. about a month or so ago, a "last minute" decision with a friend and we ended up @ the wine up. it was a rainy nite.. quiet.. we caught the tail-end of tuesday nite open mic.. just in time to catch blk swan. i am glad that i went. this beautiful poet shared a piece that moved me..
